A note from our leather expert:
This hand-stitched purse has been crafted from bridle leather to give you long-lasting beauty. This bridle leather is weather resistant, due to the oils and waxes that are added during the tanning process. As you use your bag it will develop a patina that will naturally soften the leather and give it a sheen that only comes with time.
A word about the building of your purse- It has been stitched by an old method known as saddle stitching. This means that the maker has used two needles and a thread to create a stitch that, unlike machine stitching, will not unravel easily.
This leather is made for use -don’t panic if it gets wet while you are carrying it. Wipe it with a soft cloth and allow to dry. In my experience your bag will look good-as-new after the water dries. However, mold is an enemy, so when not in use keep you bag out of high humidity environments and use the dust cover provided. If after months of use, your bag seems to have dried or stiffened you can soften it with a high quality leather oil such as mink oil, or neat’s foot oil. A good shoe store should be able to help you. As with all my leather work, I intend for your item to give you good service for a long time. Normal scuffs and wear marks are a sign of a much-loved leather item, but if my workmanship should fail in any way, please contact us and we will repair it. If the hardware should fail, I will replace it.
